Which of these mystery fossils is Homo habilis ? Mystery fossil B 2. Which of these mystery fossils is Homo erectus ? Mystery fossil A 3. Describe at least two traits you used to make these identifications. (Be sure to describe how each trait varies in the two fossils.) Fossil B has a smaller cranial capacity, shorter cranium, and it lacks an occipital torus. Fossil A has a larger cranial capacity, longer cranium, larger brows, thicker bones, and an occipital torus Exercise 4: Homo heidelbergensis Review the image below (also on pg. 485) and answer the questions: 1. Describe at least one trait that these two species share in common. Large brows, thick bones, long and low cranium, flat face, and presence of occipital torus 2. Describe at least one trait that differs between these two species. (Be sure to describe how the trait varies in the two fossils.)
