Regional vs. National Housing Price Comparison Report 2 Introduction I have been hired by my regional real estate company to determine if the region of New England’s housing prices and housing square footage are significantly different from those of the national market. I plan to do a series of tests to help me make the decision to reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis. The tests being a one-tailed test and a two-tailed test. For this random set of data taken from the New England region my null hypothesis is “regional mean listing price = national mean listing price ($288,407). The alternate hypothesis is that the regional mean is greater than the national mean. To gather my sample for the New England region, I used the “=RAND” equation in excel which randomized all the towns in this region and I kept the first 100 of them for my data sample.
