30/11/2006 09:40:00 Sun Vastly bigger than everything 300,000 times mass of earth dominate feature of solar system star- closest star to us o makes sky too bright to see other stars during the day outer portion of sun is easy to be seen and studied o almost everything on inside of sun has been theorized/deduced when you look at sun from earth, yellow ball is the  PHOTOSPHERE o where the light/photons come from o has temperature of 6000 degrees K  anything at that temp looks yellow to our eyes sun has additional layers further out o next layer out chromosphere reddish color (4000 degrees K) o extending way out from sun  faint region called  CORONA glow in sky outside of eclipse shows sun has magnetic field similar to earth 1 million degrees how is it possible to be further away from source and be  hotter?
