Unit 4 Essay Introduction The impact of globalization on organizational practices across national boundaries has regenerated interest in examining how culture impacts on training and development and how practices can be adopted in ways consistent with the specific cultural context. Although some research exists exploring the roles of culture in the areas such as recruitment, organizational socialization, and training transfer, there is a critical lack of theoretical rigor related to the impact of cultural issues in training and development. Training and Development Cultural influences may not only impact individual's implicit notions of what constitutes an appropriate approach to training and development but may also affect researcher selection of explicit supporting theories. Culture encompasses fundamental values that distinguish one group or context from another. These values, resulting approaches, and perspectives regarding the interpretation of human differences are likely strong contributors to the training and development ideology that consequently affects both organizational learning and performance.
