RESULTS Table 1. Number of fragments and restriction sites for single digests. Digest Number of Fragments Number of Restriction Sites EcoRI 6 5 BamHI 6 5 HinDIII 7 6 The number of fragments were found using NEB cutter for three single digests; EcoRI, BamHI, and HinDIII. In silico digestions produced an individual gel for each of the three digestions which showed the number of fragments. The number of restriction sites for each digestion was calculated using the formula: number of restriction sites = number of fragments in digestion – 1. 2
