Clare Gersh 2/21/08 Extra Credit #1 INDV 102- Sec 43 Reflection on Government The State Of The Union address was extensive and informational especially when it comes to what George W. Bush said about how government should be formed. He mentioned the Constitution a few times in his speech and I quote him, “We must trust in the wisdom of our founders and empower judges who understand that the Constitution means what is says” (Bush 1). He is talking about the Supreme Court and how following the Constitution is the right thing to do. He also hinted throughout his speech that government should be formed how it was originally meant to be, by the Constitution and no other way. Now it is not for me to judge if the President has not gone by the Constitution throughout his two terms, but he says it now that is the way government should be formed. None of the philosophers clearly mentioned following the constitution, but I suppose that Locke and Rousseau would be believers in this situation towards the constitution. Not Hobbes though, because he totally believed in a monarchy
