COMFORT THEORY ANALYSIS 2 Comfort Theory Analysis The Comfort Theory by Kolcaba suggests that human experience is perceived in four different dimensions. These include the physical, the sociocultural, the environmental and the psycho-spiritual aspects. This way provision of patient comfort while in hospital requires that these elements are considered as a means of fostering recovery (Puchi, Paravic-Klijn, & Salazar, 2018). An analysis of the theoretical adequacy of the Comfort Theory using Chinn and Kramer’s criteria reveals that the theory matches theoretical adequacy. One of the criteria for theoretical adequacy according to Chinn and Krammer is the clarity of the theory. The theory’s clarity is examined on the basis of semantic clarity, structure and consistency (Chinn, & Kramer, 2018).
