HIS 315L Study Guide for Exam 1 Dr. Ozanne, Fall 2019 IMPORTANT: on exam day, please bring a new, blank bluebook. I have provided 4 questions for you to study here. On the day of the exam, I will choose the essay topic. The essay will be worth 50 points. Even though this is a timed test, your essays should be organized with an introductory paragraph that has a THESIS STATEMENT. Then you will have several body paragraphs and a conclusion. Your essay must answer all parts of the essay question. Answers that have an especially clear, strong argument (thesis statement that is supported with evidence) will do better than those with a weaker thesis. Answers that use evidence (examples) from the textbook, lectures, and especially primary source documents will do better.
