Family violence is when a violent crime happens from a person that is supposed to be closest to one. One out of every six homicides is the result of family violence. Intimate partner violence is when harm is done from one partner to the other. This anger could stem from arguments, and other common familial disagreements. The maltreatment of children is when a child has been abused in any way as well as neglected. Most of these cases go unreported.
