Annotations- This poem is so far about the author’s love/wife named Annabel lee. So far, the author has led the readers to believe that his wife Annabel, has passed and he is telling the readers about their love and the kind of person she is. I think that this poem will initially be about this girl Annabel that is the love of his life about her and their once growing romance. Step 2: Own words- Seraphs: An angelic being, belonging to the highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy. Coveted: Greatly desired or envied. Kinsman: a man who is one of a person’s blood relations. Sepulcher: a small statue or monument in which a dead person is laid or buried. Dissever: To divide or sever something. Annotations- Stanza 2: The speaker in this poem is saying that this girl Annabel in the kingdom was loved only by him and described to be an angel that all the angels from above envied their relationship (“With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven”).
