Chapter 2 Question #1 Page 48 President Abraham Lincoln once said: “When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.” While everyone has ethical values, some people have more than others. However, ethical values can come from more than one source. They can originate from family, religious and cultural background. All of these sources are important to ones growth as an ethical, human being, and it is also important to understand where exactly these values originate. Personally, my ethical values come from the different sources of my family, my religion and my cultural background. When I look at the ethical values imparted on me by my family I need to look at multiple sources. These sources originate from my family members, such as my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings. When it comes to the ethics that were imparted to me especially by my parents, they have tried to show me and my siblings what is considered right vs wrong, an extremely important thing. With a father that owns his own construction company, I see that in order to survive in the world of business as he does, one must be honest with their customers. For if you are honest with your customers you will earn their respect and even their friendship. Through this special bond you might even be invited to their family celebrations as my father has had the honor and pleasure of doing. While earning the respect of the customers by being honest and ethical is a good lesson, another good
