Mitch Morgan BUS 651 Professor Waldeck 22 October 2013 Speaker Summary: TQL The presentation given by TQL was very interesting. I didn’t think it would be something I would be interested in, but it’s definitely something I may be interested in. We got a run-down of what logistics is in the presentation. There is a lot more to it than I imagined. To begin, logistics is how you get something from point A to point B. It deals with supply chain management which consists of: design, planning, execution, and control of goods. It also deals with the transportation, warehousing, freight, and customer support involved in the entire process. There are 3 different types of jobs within TQL. Those are: pilots, drivers, and brokers. I learned that 3 rd party logistics is an external organization that executes logistics. It is cost efficient and saves time. TQL is a non-asset based freight brokerage company. Essentially, they don’t own any trucks or warehouses. They are the 2 nd largest freight broker in the United States. They have
