Mitch Morgan Application: Part 1: Defining Good Internet Sources Knowing the author : Who is the author? Does this author have a previous history of writing things? Is he or she well known? Does the author cite other sources as well? Authenticity : Does the webpage clearly note its sources? Is that source well known? If the page has a bibliography, is it citied correctly. If it’s not cited, it could be opinionated which may not be very useful for paper purposes. Organization : Does the website have a flow to it? Organization of a website is key to keeping someone on that page. Knowing if the page is updated is important as well. The information could be from 10 years ago, making it less accurate. Check the URL : This will tell how reliable a source may be. “.Edu” and “.gov” endings of a URL are more reliable than others because they are connected to schools and the government. Websites that end in “org” could be good and bad. That is why you want to check and research the author.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
