On the bottom of your sheet, you see six categories: physical , intellectual , social , emotional , spiritual , and environmental . (Wellness 1). Physical wellness, as you probably know, incorporates regular exercise, a healthy diet, and abstinence from tobacco and illicit drugs. (Wellness 1) Intellectual wellness includes observing and questioning the world around you, exposing yourself to new situations, and learning because you want to, not because you are being told to do so. (Wellness 1). Social wellness includes liking yourself as a person, being able to easily interact with many types of people, being able to communicate your feelings, and recognizing a need for fun in your life. (Wellness 1) Emotional wellness includes keeping a positive attitude, coping with stress, welcoming challenges, and accepting responsibility for your own behavior. (Wellness 1) Spiritual wellness is not limited to spiritual activities; it can include performing volunteer work, as well as spending time in personal reflection or defining your values and ethics. (Wellness 1).

Environmental wellness also incorporates an appreciation for the various surrounding in which you interact on a daily basis, such as the workplace, social atmosphere, living quarters, and natural environment (Wellness 1). Ask Audience : “Are you guys pretty balanced? If your wheel had to turn, would it turn smooth or bump around like a flat tire?” It’s not unusual for students struggle to balance their activities and school work and still find time to relax and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Imbalance in your wheel, devoting too much time to a single aspect, can cause you to neglect other areas of your life that are important to you.
