Department of Biological Sciences BIOSCI 202 — Anatomy and Physiology 1 AJ Petto, PhD Unit Exam Preview Read This This preview consists of 2 parts. The first contains some sample questions of the type that I am likely to include in the unit exams. All these examples relate to the material in Unit 1: Organization of the Body. The second part contains a brief outline of the major areas of emphasis that will be included in the first unit exam. The second part appears in a separate document on the course web site. The exams that I give require several different levels of response. The first level is what we call a declarative response: you can name, list, or label items correctly. The second level is a descriptive response: you can provide details about the item that relate to its main features and functions. The third level is inferential : you can apply your knowledge of these items to a specific problem or case that is presented to you. The fourth level is synthetic : you will take knowledge from several different items or areas in the course and combine them for your answer. This exam preview includes examples of each of these types of questions. Please be sure that you read and understand the instructions so that you give the appropriate answer. Best Advice: Don’t Panic! C:\My Documents\teaching\UWM\Fall04\BS202_U1prvw.doc
