1 Ong Ralph Ong Professor Lasley ENGL 2A 13 May 2012 Different Angles in Analyzing Photographs In a world filled with innovative objects due to state-of-the-art technology, photographs continue to remain as one of the most powerful objects today. Pictures are often our closest representation of the past. They convey emotions and capture a particular moment in time – moments that can never be exactly replicated again. Most of the time, however, we tend to overlook this potential as we focus more on the superficial aspects of the photo; consequently, we fail to realize the many aspects through which we can view an image to appreciate its profoundness. In relation to this, Wendy Hesford’s Framing Identities essay demonstrates that we should not dwell in a homogenized manner in analyzing the things around us; instead, she urges us to consider multiple ways in examining our environment. In doing so, we are able to stand in the middle of contending perspectives and be open to all the possible options.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
