Medieval Time a) Medieval people viewed authority as a “tree” b) King and pope are on the top of the tree, bishops in the middle, priests at the bottom, common people at the roots c) Coronation – struggle between religious power and secular power d) Who can give the authority? Pope (the church at that time was the most huge and powerful institute) or King.
