Rousseau – Industrial Revolution a) Social Contract (p.164) a.i. The difficulty is to find a form of association which will defend and protect the person and goods of each associate, and in which each, while uniting himself with all, may still obey himself alone, and remain free as before. This is the fundamental problem for which the SC provides the solution a.ii. People won’t have the value of community, unless they have a strong sense for each other b) Social unity: freedom involves. Putting community together (institutional condition) – make people together (conformity of society).
