2 Margaret Sanger Margaret Sanger was born in the 14 th day of September in the year 1879 in Corning, New York City in the United States of America. She attended the Claverack College and later on took a nursing training in the White Plains hospital in New York City. Through her life, she is known for coming up with the idea of birth control ( Sanger, 2012). She changed her work to pursue the idea of birth control since she was able to look deep into the relationship that exists between poverty, fertility which is uncontrolled, infant and maternal mortality rates which were high at that time and death which occurred from botched illegal abortions. It is this kind of environment which made her come up with how women could control their rates of giving birth ( Wardell, 1980).
