Nick Blee FYS: J.Lavigne 11/12/07 Farm Bill Paper The farm bill that is effective today is a much more different bill that what it used to be. Our society relies on cheap goods to maximize its total profit, but by using these goods it can create many problems for our society. Money is commonly misused in the sense that we are giving too much to the farms and the firms of our society that do not need it. The $288 billion that is spent on these farms and firms can and should be used more wisely. In the society today farmer’s crops are being seized by numerous disasters that have occurred in the past few years. The government is doing the right thing by giving troubled farmers a hand in getting the money they need to survive. The problem with the government giving farmers money for their disasters is that they are declaring their crops destroyed before they are fully destroyed. A perfect example of this is when there was a terrible drought this summer and farmers were rapidly declaring their crops destroyed. A
