Chapter 8 Terms Amoritzation Schedule- Provides the details of the amortization of the discount and the resulting expense amounts and the current carrying values Bond- a financial instrument used by an entity to borrow money Capital Lease- a contract where the lessee obtains the rights to use and control an asset, but the rights are so broad that the lessee is considered to be the owner of the asset Capital Structure- the mix of debt and equity that a company uses to generate its assets Contingent Liability- an obligation arising from an existing condition whose outcome is uncertain and who resolution depends on a future event Current Liability- any obligation of a business that is reasonably expected to be satisfied or paid within one year Current Portion Due of Long Term Debt- the portion of a long-term liability that will be paid within one year Current Ratio- compares a company’s current assets to its current liabilities by dividing current assets by current liabilities Debt to Assets Ration-
