FIN 421: GROUP TERM PROJECT (FALL 2020)
General Guidelines
Submission Deadline: DECEMBER 31, 2020 (THURSDAY)
Time: On or before 5.00 pm
Submission Platform: Through email
1. Form Groups: Form groups of four (min) to six (max) members. Each group will be assigned
different companies. Collect the required financial data for those corporations as directed in the
class.
2. Common Size Statements
a) Vertical B/S (all figures divided by Total Assets & expressed as a %)
Vertical I/S (all figures divided by Sales & expressed as a %). Include averages and
standard deviation.
b) Horizontal B/S & I/S. Use the same base year for both. All base year figures will become
100%, and all other items will be expressed as a percent of that item’s base year figure.
(I.e., each base year item’s amount will be divided by itself and expressed in percent. Then
the other years’ respective items will be divided by that item’s base year figure and
