2 An enormous piece of a student’s scholarly profession is educational guidance which entails literacy instruction. Our scholars come into schools with different degrees of openness to language, books, writing and proficiency measures. Teachers should attempt to make viable educational guidance that can move students from their current levels of reading and writing to a higher level. This paper will be composed using the literacy framework and the framework for literacy instruction to explain why these are effective in creating a literacy rich environment . There were many areas within the literacy framework that were observed while watching the early literacy learning video. In the media, we are introduced to a Kindergarten teacher who was reading a book to her students (Walden University 2014). This teacher, with great enthusiasm showcases a book about the last day of Kindergarten and uses connection to relate the book to her class as they will soon experience the last day of Kindergarten as well. One component that I noticed right off the bat was her use of Vocabulary Instruction (Literacy Framework n.d). Before getting into the story, the teacher taps into their prior knowledge by going over the parts that make up a book like the cover page, title, spine illustrator etc. as these are concepts of print & things that they have previously learned that will be in an upcoming test. Another area from the Literacy Framework that was observed in the media was the concept of phonemic awareness (Literacy Framework n.d). She used an alphabet book and a rhyming book with her students.
