Why is it Seriously Immoral to Kill Innocent Adult Human Beings? Possible answers: Killing brutalizes the one who kills. The great loss to others Marquis’ answer: “The loss of one’s life is one of the greatest losses one can suffer” (SE, p. 22). Why is the Loss of One’s Life Such a Great Loss? It is not a loss we experience , so how can it be a loss?
