10.26.2005 Mary Rowlandson Pg 156- God said we have a deal and since you broke that he has no obligation to help Pg 158- Jeremiah sermon (Mary applies this to her own situation) Pg 71- Mary describing her situation after the Indians attacked Lancaster. Pg 74- Spiritual significance of what has happened to her (since she broke the covenant, she believes she deserves what has happened to her) There was a belief that the Indians were acting as the devil’s agents. Praying Indians were those who were converted to Christianity and moved back to Indian and English culture. Some could read and write and they served as writing what they believed had happened. Pg88- She is getting ready to leave, and she makes a comment on how she hates praying Indians. o They don’t have a place between the division of English and Indian and which does not fit into gods plan o Indians in Rowlandson’s eyes are hypocrites. o
