Justin Flynn 0449924 09-10-07 I also, completely disagree with the statement that there is “nothing” in the deserts of Texas, as does William Least Heat Moon in the book Blue Highways . The desert is a habitat just like any other, in which only certain things can grow or live. There are many things out there that cannot simply be labeled as “nothing”. That is just like saying that there is nothing in the rain forest, when in this case, it is obvious that there is in fact “something”. There is no difference between the desert and rain forest in the fact that there are living things, just what kind of things they are. In this case we cannot say that there is nothing in the desert if we wouldn’t say that there is nothing in the rain forest. When you look into the rain forest you see miles and miles of trees and vegetation, and if you look even closer you will find millions of other living things, like animals and insects. If you look into the desert you may see a cactus and a few rocks at
