HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES OF ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY 2 Historical Perspectives of Abnormal Psychology No meaning of abnormality has been completely approved by the psychological community. But, having knowledge of unusual mindset is important to evaluating one’s conduct in deciding what a meaning must be (Hansell & Damour, 2008). Unusual conduct is usually regarded as conduct which is the opposite of social norms, with usual conduct being the very opposite. In this ability, it's particularly important to analyze the topic of unusual mindset so as to correctly categorize usual and unusual conduct. This document will analyze the roots of unusual mindset as well as the problems to defining as well as classifying usual as well as unusual conduct. This document will also examine the development of unusual mindset as well as how it has developed into a scientific field. Finally, this document will examine the psychodynamic, humanistic as well as existential, behavioral, cognitive, sociocultural, family systems perception as well as biological theoretical aspects relevant to the growth of unusual psychology. Origins of Abnormal Psychology The roots of unusual mindset can be tracked back thousands of years. From this period of time up to now, individuals have been constantly attempting to know as well as potentially transform what's regarded as an unusual conduct. From a historical viewpoint, unusual conduct has been perceived as the consequence of biological, psychological, as well as even supernatural factors (Hansell & Damour, 2008). When unusual conduct was shown, individuals often-times thought of it to be the consequence of an impact from bad spirits, devils, or one more thing (Hansell & Damour, 2008).
