Ashley Sorgea English 102 – FLM TT 2:00-3:15 Research Project  Part A George Lucas: How He Changed the Film Industry In 1977 20 th  Century Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd. released George Lucas’  Star Wars  on the  world. Today the film, along with its prequels and sequels, is one of the top influential films in  the United States and the rest of the world. Lucas’ had to change the way technology was used in  films to make his vision for  Star Wars  a reality. He put up thousands of his own money to  establish departments such as Industrial Light and Magic, what is now Pixar Animation Studios,  and THX Sound. By the creation of non-existent film departments such as Industrial Light and   Magic, Pixar Animation Studios, and THX Sound, George Lucas refined and revolutionized the   film industry.  II. George Lucas A.
