A child goes through important changes during puberty. Today, puberty lasts five years, starting as pre adolescence and early adolescence. Several years before children show any signs of puberty, a system on tip of the kidneys starts to release hormones. The adrenal androgens are responsible for producing pubic hair, body odor, and skin changes. Boys and girls produce estrogen and testosterone, although boys produce more testosterone than girls. Girls, on the other hand, produce more estrogen, the hormone responsible for stimulating ovaries and widen hips and uterus. Development of early mature girls The hypothalamus is triggered by several factors such as light and heat exposure. According to Belsky ( 2010), “ given comparable nutrition, children who live in warmer climates tend to reach puberty comparatively early” (p.239).Also, girls living in unhappy conditions increases the levels of stress hormones, stimulating the hypothalamus and causing precocious puberty.
