ECE 220 Multimedia Signal Processing August 29, 2006 Fall 2006 Homework 2 Assigned: August 29, 2006 Due: Wednesday, September 6, by 4:30 pm in the 220 lock-box on the 2nd floor of Phillips Office hours: See the web page for everyone’s office hours: Goals & concepts: Finding (generalized) Fourier series coefficients using both the formula and the definition of the Fourier series, practice with the definition of the CTFS. Introduction to discrete-time (DT) systems. Relevant text sections: Appendix A (not A.5), Sections 3-4, 3-5, 3-6. Begin Chapter 5 (we’ll cover all of Chapter 5, but NOT section 5.4). Suggested Practice Problems. NOT GRADED but suggested if you need more practice or review. 3.8 (a)&(b), 3.10, 3.11 (NOTE — this problem only requires THINKING; no math is necessary!), 3.12; 5.1, 5.2 Helpful problems are from the CD, under “Homework Problems with Solutions” for Chapter 3 “Determine Fourier series coefficients for a sum of cosines” “Evaluate Fourier series integral for a specific signal”
