Why was it important? the purpose of this research study was to find (i) that the number of formats in a radio market is positively related to the number of stations, and (ii) that the listenership or audience is positively related to the number of formats. This study showed how much of the content was controlled by listener feedback. 2. What is the relationship between station format diversity and listenership? If a listener enjoyed the format then the listener would present positive feedback about the station format, this feedback allows stations to change and adapt their format to the listeners needs and everyone wins. 3. What is the relationship between changes in ownership regulations, and formats and listeners? The relationship between ownership regulations, and format and listeners is a help me help you concept in which the regulations allow more diverse owners who cater to the needs of more diverse listeners, therefore, regulations
