Microbiology Day 5 10:05 B-lactamase hydrolyses B=lactam group, therefore bacteria has this enzyme would be penicillin resistant High-throughput sequence used to ID DNA (species) in a sample --> set of primers Use a set of primers, mix the sample (i.e. Gut) DNA and look at result Animation – Norton For high-throughput sequences, you cut DNA, add adaptors (since you know their sequence), you then have primers on beads and the DNA attaches, one per bead (figure out statistically). You add the beans into the test tube through homogenisation so that each bead is surrounded in its own environment. You then use PCR to synthesis a separate DNA fragment. -Use PCR first since you have low concentration of DNA in a real sample. The strands are then separated by heat, and DNA begins to replicate. You then place these microbeads in tiny wells. Each well has different DNA and each well contains bead and luciferase and sulfurylase (Dont need to know name). These are meant to produce a fluorescence if there is a reaction. Some reaction use florescent DNA. You then add a primer and add dNTPs and pyrophosphate is released and produces a light from ATP (in each well) and you add each nucleotide separately.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
