Microbiology April 4 th Couple things about the agrobacteria It is a Ti plasmid components so it has ability to transfer to plant cells and once there, it creates a gall tumour. We use it in biotechnology… -We use the transferability and we add in the cloning ability and the fact that we make it into a shuttle plasmid, where it can go into different species. In this case, it would be plants and E.coli (purpose is for amplification and once we do that, we can do recombinant DNA techniques) -We talked about it in making insecticides and other aspects like that. Quoran Sensing and Biofilm Biofilm: layers of microbes on a solid surface. Powerpoint: Slide 2 Planktonic Growth: free floating bacteria. It’s in a liquid environment and generally an attached bacteria and Biofilm is layers of bacteria and harder to kill. Layers of different types of bacteria and something stops it from moving and they colonize and stay on a surface. It’s harder to kill since anything that hits it, like an antibiotic will only hit the top layers and won’t be able to hit the lower layers.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
