INFLUENCES FROM THE 20 TH CENTURY ON “THE RED WHEELBARROW” The sonnet "The Red Wheelbarrow" is known to be perhaps the best illustration of an imagist style sonnet. The motivation for the sonnet was a companionship between a more established dark angler and his child. Williams style of sonnet was additionally affected by two companions of his, Alfred Stieglitz and Charles Sheeler, these two were the two photographic artists.
