Foley 2Reaction to Bidens Executive order:Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Executive orderThe U.S constitution allows two major powers at the disposal of any president of the United States president. These two powers consist of being able issue Executive orders as well aspower to veto bills from Congress. Executive orders are presidential acts that do not need Con-gressional approval to allow them to take effect and have the same legal weight as the laws that are passed by congress (What Is an Executive Order). Although these orders do have a limit, the "president cannot issue executive orders that go beyond the law or that exceed his authority un-der article II of the U.S constitution and Congress can overrule orders with passing new legisla-tion" (What Is an Executive Order). Moreover, the US constitution grants presidential power on foreign policy, defense, and the negotiation of treaties (What Is an Executive Order).
