Internet of ThingsAlthough, Internet of Things may sound like some game you’d play on your mobile phone or like an ambition of a mad scientist, however it is the future. Billions of everyday devices such as smartphone, refrigerators, automobiles, etc. or the “things”, that are connected to the internet and to each other in an attempt to collect and share data is referred to as Internet of Things aka IoT.IoT adds a level of intelligence to the device which can improve how we work and live. It enables them to act on the data collected without the involvement of a human being creating a perfect marriage between the digital and physical world. This includes pretty much any object of all shapes and sizes – from a lightbulb that can be switched on/off using our mobile phones, to a refrigerator which can change the temperature inside it according to the temperature outside, to a wearable fitness device that can count the number of steps you’ve taken and measure your heart beat, and then suggest a plan tailored for you using that data.IoT is an incredible idea, it is a goal that should be taken up at full strength and with all possible resources. It can bring about a world where our refrigerator can guess when the groceries are needed, order them and get it delivered to our houses. However, as great and impressive all of this may sound, IoT impose a massive amount of risks on us.
