OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (MAN 3506) Section 2 Sequence # 11068 Welcome to MAN - 3506 You must read this syllabus completely and carefully at the very beginning of the semester so that you are very well aware of the expectations for this class and conform to any requirements/instructions conveyed for this course. MW 2:00-3:20 P.M. Dr. Sunil Babbar Room : FL 423 Office : 215 Fleming Hall My Office Hrs : Mon. & Wed.: 9:00-9:25 a.m., 10:55-11:30 a.m., and 1:30-2:00 p.m. Mondays: 6:40-7:05 p.m. My TA’s Office Hrs: My teaching assistant (TA), Mary Bethel (her email address is [email protected]), will also hold office hours in my office (in Rm. 215 Fleming Hall) and will be available there to help you with this course on: Tuesdays: 2:30-4:00 p.m., and Thursdays: 4:15-5:45 p.m. Office Phone: 561-297-3179 Email: [email protected] When sending any email, you MUST ALWAYS put the course and day(s) and time of your class in the subject line (“Student in your MAN 3506 MW 2:00 p.m. class”) to ensure a response. Also, do always identify yourself using your full name within the “text” of your email message or at the bottom of the message. Because of the volume of SPAM one receives, your not following these instructions will result in my missing your message and not being able to respond (which I do not want to see happen). Instructors often teach many sections/courses and a student not making reference to the course, day(s), and time of the class means that that student’s communication requires the instructor to first search through all course/class lists just to associate the student with the appropriate class and context in question. Emails not containing the proper content in the subject line of the email will not receive a response. As business students, please always be conscious that you communicate well and formally using no slang or informal abbreviations. Also, be very conscious of spelling and grammatical errors. Emails not exhibiting professional communication, responsibility, and courtesy will not receive a response. Communication skills, responsibility, and leadership by example are all essential elements of business training and education. PREREQUISITES : MAN 3025: Introduction to Management and Organizational Behavior QMB 3600: Quantitative Methods in Administration Note : As per the FAU Undergraduate Catalog , you must have already completed both these prerequisites with a passing grade. You cannot be taking any of these prerequisites the same time/semester as MAN 3506. Anyone who has not completed these prerequisites prior to this semester is not permitted in this class and is required to inform the instructor about it via email within the first week of the semester and to drop the class.
