Rock Sims English 101, Section 001 August 31, 2007 SWA 2: Response Paper on Parker (CR 47) The article “Seeking Balance In An Either-Or World” by Kathleen Parker brings up the idea that it is getting harder and harder in America for people to choose a side in many political standpoints. People are often unable to decide on some platforms with a firm stance with no strings attached because it is hard to just say something is right or wrong in any situation without first knowing the specifics of said situation. This decision is difficult for many because of the lack of middle ground allowed by the people proposing the idea. Many political parties basically say you are either with them, or against them. There is no more, “I’m a liberal when it comes to this, and a conservative when it comes to this,” or “The Democrats have a good idea with this, and the Republicans seem kind of right with that.” People are only now really able to see the world in a shade of gray as opposed to the
