Experiment 2: Pinhole Viewer You will use the viewer to estimate the diameter of the moon and sun, without looking directly at the sun. Sunny days are best for completing this experiment. You must also perform this procedure using the moon to complete the Post-Lab Questions. It is easiest to achieve this on a full or nearly full moon; please plan accordingly. Procedure 1. Cut a 2.5 x 2.5 cm. hole in the center of the cardboard. Note : You can use your kit box lid for this material. 2. Position a square of aluminum foil over this hole and tape it to secure it in place. Note : It does not matter if the aluminum foil is taped to the front or the back side of the cardboard. It is helpful to tape all four edges of the foil to the cardboard to get a secure attachment. 3. Use the push pin to create a small hole in the center of the aluminum foil. This is called the pinhole. 4. Tape a ruler perpendicular to the pinhole viewer at the 5 cm mark on the ruler. Then, tape the index card to the ruler at the 20 cm mark. The index
