Chapter 6 Question # 2 Page 221 In the United States we have a set of laws and rules guarantying workers rights and safety in the workplace. However, outside of the United States that it is an entirely different story; in some more advanced nations such as the European Union they have laws protecting workers and their rights, while in some larger nations such as Asia and in third world countries there are no laws protecting workers from occupational hazards and health risks, which is something that I disagree with. However, I believe in having greater oversight of multinational companies especially ones that are based in the United States and holding them responsible for their workers in other countries where manufacturing operations are based. Although, almost no longer existent here in the United States but still around especially in foreign countries we have sweatshops. Some of these overseas sweatshops manufacture for some of the biggest companies in the United States. Some of the reasons there are sweatshops is that manufacturers
