q q Task Description
Online home assignments will be assigned almost every week. These are to be submitted using
MYSTATLAB online teaching and learning solution. Unless otherwise stated, each assignment will be
due before 5:00 pm the Wednesday of the following week after it is assigned. It is strongly
recommended to start working early on these assignments. Students will be required to demonstrate
problem solving skills based on the topics covered during the respective week. Problem solving skills
and application of statistical tools and models will be tested.

Quiz 1 will be held in week 6 workshops and will cover topics from weeks 1 – 5 inclusive. Quiz
questions require students to show all intermediate procedures that lead to the final answer. Students
will be required to demonstrate problem solving skills and understanding of the theoretical foundations.
The quizzes consist of short calculations and appropriate statements justifying the chosen models.
The testable topics of Quiz 1 include contruction of statistical charts, descriptive statistics, discrete
distribution, Bayes Theorem, and probability counting rules.
