Sam Deford Vocab List 1) Cerebellum - Part of the brain which connects sensory input with motor control 2) Medulla - Short for medulla oblongata, this lower portion of the brain stem controls autonomic functions and relays nerve signals between the brain and spinal cord 3) Pons- located above the medulla, this portion of the brain stem relays information between the cerebellum and cerebrum as well as relaying other types of messages in the brain 4) Reticular Formation- this portion of the brain stem, centered around the pons, is responsible for controlling specific behaviors such as sleep and walking 5) Thalamus- this portion of the brain, located above the brain stem and below the cerebrum, is responsible for processing and relaying information to various parts of the cerebral cortex 6) Hypothalamus- The hypothalamus is located above the brain stem and below the thalamus.
