Taking care of a 1,000 pound mare for one year. She is a finished reiner,  who hauls to shows once a month. She is in training, but not vigorous. She is  ridden 4 times a week for about an hour. No reoccurring health problems, no  lameness issues. She is stalled mornings and nights, turned out during the day. Housing: Board: $6.00 per day Includes twice daily stall cleaning, feeding, watering, blanketing, turnout  time, doctoring, and any other basic care procedures.  $180 monthly Total yearly Cost - $2,190.00 Feed: Strategy: $10.99 per bag 1.5% body weight daily - 15lbs = $3.30 1 month = 30 days $99.00 monthly $1,188 yearly Alfalfa: $7.00 per bale from Wisconsin - 70 pound bales 1% body weight daily – 10lbs = $1.00 1 month = 30 days $30.00 monthly $360.00 yearly Costal: $6.00 per bale Valley View, TX – 60 pound bales
