PHR 1006.01 9/4/13Primary Reading Questions- 1 Nussbaum: 1.I believe that Nussbaum is right in saying that philosophical examples don’t work as well as fictional stories when it comes to conveying a moral point because like she states in the second full paragraph on page 32, “Our experience is, without fiction, too confined and too parochial”. She is saying that without fiction, there is no room to diverge from the morals. 2.When Nussbaum states, “no life is ‘raw’” she means that there is no way to go through life without having more that one dimension to you and without having emotions. 3.When thinking about a film that teaches a lesson that is both a “horizontal and a vertical extension of life” I think of the filmMy Sister’s Keeper(2009) because it not only takes the viewer through the experience of having to deal with a child dying from cancer whose sister was born just so she could save her older sister’s
