Landers et al compared 3DP and 3D bioplotting in manufacturing biodegradable polyurethane scaffolds using aliphatic polyurethanes based on lysine ethyl ester diisocyanate and isophorone diisocyanate [28]. Geng et al present a technique based on 3DP, referred to as dual dispensing for the design and fabrication of scaffolds [29]. Ang et al used the RP robotic dispensing system demonstrated its potential in fabricating 3D scaffolds with regular and reproducible macropore architecture [30]. 3.3 Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) In comparison with the three- dimensional printing method, the fused deposition modeling method does not require any organic binder solvent and offers ease and flexibility in material handling and processing [26]. The FDM uses a small temperature controlled extruder to force out a thermoplastic filament material and deposit the semi- molten polymer onto a platform in a layer- by- layer process. The FDM process operates by moving the extrusion head in the x- and y- axis while the platform lowers in the z- axis for each layer to form [12].
