The acclaimed cleaning products and solutions brand, Mr. Clean has advertised one of their cleaning products in relation to Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, the company did however, negatively target gender roles in modern-day society. The harmful message in the media product advertisement, “This Mother’s Day, Get Back to The Job That Really Matters,” suggests that in today’s day and age, the societal role of mothers and females in general, is solely limited to domestic work, including household chores and child-rearing. 2. Within the selected media text, various societal groups are represented. Primarily, the advertisement’s inclusion of a mother and child (top right) represents society’s women and children. Additionally, the advertisement’s iconic brand symbol of Mr. Clean indirectly represents the general male population in society (bottom left). 3. The selected media advertisement poses a significant risk at negatively impacting society’s population of mothers and women in general. The product advertisement’s message suggests that in society, a mother’s sole purpose is revolved around domestic work and household
