In class, we learned that decreased HDL cholesterol is a symptom for metabolicsyndrome, as well as diseases such as Hyperlipidemia, Hypertriglyceridemia, and Dyslipidemia.I may also have high amounts of cholesterol in my blood. Due to these findings, I decided to cutout more fats in my diet project, which I have been consuming a lot of while snacking on friedchicken bites during break at work. Also, for my diet project I wanted to gain some more muscleweight, so I decided to incorporate more protein into my eating habits. I decided that I wouldstay away from the fried food during work and go to the C4C to get quality and hearty protein.With a healthy “normal weight” BMI of 23, I usually do not think twice about what I ameating before I put it in my mouth. I am a slim eight-teen year old boy who gets enough activityto not gain weight, and I don’t over eat or eat too little. On a day when I drink no alcohol anddon’t over eat during dinner, I consume approximately 2,000 calories. My typical diet consists ofa breakfast burrito (660), a cherry Coke (150), 2 slices of pizza from the Grab and Go (570), and2 cups of noodles for dinner (580). Usually, I would have around 10 chicken bites and 5mozzarella sticks during work to add on more calories, but as I said I cut those out for my dietproject. Burning around 250,500 calories on average per day, I am burning more calories than Iconsume. Therefore, I am maintaining my slim figure and keeping the same weight. I know I am
Bowers 2in balance if I am eating the way I do every day, even if I feel full after every meal. I know thisbecause I am consuming approximately 2,000 calories per day and burning all those calories plus50,500 more. That means I can even eat more than usual if I want to.If I feel hungry during theday, I am not in balance and need to eat something before I start losing weight.With my typical diet on any given day, I looked up the number of carbohydrates,proteins, and lipids in the foods and drinks that I consume on a regular basis. My breakfast, abreakfast burrito, has 32g (52%) carbs, 16g (26%) protein and 14g (22%) fat. My lunch, 2 slicesof pizza from the Grab & Go, has 54g (54%) carbs, 20g (20%) protein and 26g (26%) fat. Mydrink, a refreshing cherry Coke, is 100% carbs! Lastly, my dinner, 2 chicken flavor Cup ofNoodles, has 30g (60%) carbs, 6g (12%) protein and 14g (28%) fat. Averaging my percentages
