Unformatted text preview: I identified Liquid unknown #1 as Chloroform. I found its density to be 0.96 g/ml in the lab and its boiling point to be 58 C in the lab. Chloroform’s chart density of 1.49 g/ml may have ⁰ been a little off what I got in the lab but the boiling point of 61 C on the chart convinced me ⁰ that it was chloroform. Also the fact that it was insoluble in water and soluble in both cyclohexane and alcohol made it the clear choice....
