Unformatted text preview: connect to the database, start sqlplus like so (replacing login with your Oracle username): sqlplus [email protected] Enter your password when prompted. You will find yourself at the SQL prompt. Enter the following command at the prompt: SQL> select sysdate from dual; Commands are terminated by “;” and you need to hit enter to send them for execution. To repeat the previous command, type “/” and then hit enter. To close your connection, type “exit;” and hit enter.
