Jeffrey Carter 003264286 NPRP NPRP – Employers slash jobs by most in 5 years 1. The main point of this article is to inform the people that there is a major problem in the civilian labor force as in January alone there were almost 22,000 job cuts, while in February they slashed approximately 63,000 jobs. Along with those cuts, the FED has also announced that it will increase the amount of money it will make available to banks for loans. The economy is losing a lot of momentum with the housing and credit crisis. Even though a lot of people may have lost jobs, the average wages across the nation are going up, but this is only due to the rising cost of energy and food. Now a lot of people are waiting for the economic stimulus plan that is hopefully going to stimulate the economy in the 2 nd half of the year. Unemployment is at an all time low in years and it’s predicted that it will continue to do so as we enter a recession or already are in one right now. 2.
